Soli Deo Gloria Candle Company began within the ordinary rhythms of family life — where daily activity and intentional quiet coexist. As a family, we became increasingly aware of how much our environment shapes our well-being, attention, and sense of rest. We wanted our home to reflect care, honesty, and restraint — not excess.
Our candles emerged from that awareness. They are not a lifestyle statement, but a practical response to the desire for simplicity and clarity in the spaces we inhabit.
Why We Make What We Make
Our work began with a simple question: What are we actually bringing into our home?
As we looked more closely at conventional candles, we found long ingredient lists, synthetic fragrance blends, and vague labeling that made it difficult to understand what was being burned indoors. We were not interested in fear-based claims or perfectionism — only in transparency and informed choice.
Unable to find products that aligned with those priorities, we chose to make our own.
What began as a personal solution gradually developed into a family business rooted in careful sourcing, clear standards, and intentional process.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create thoughtfully scented home goods — including beeswax candles — that support a calm, considered home environment and encourage slower, more attentive living.
We aim to make products that are honest in composition, restrained in design, and respectful of the spaces in which they are used.
Our Process and Standards
We take a deliberate, small-batch approach to product making. Each product is made using a short list of carefully selected materials, chosen for their function, integrity, and suitability for indoor use.

What We Mean by “Toxin-Free”
When we use the term toxin-free, we are describing a standard of intentional exclusion of toxic ingredients.
We intentionally avoid synthetic fragrance oils, dyes, and common candle additives that contribute to unnecessary indoor air exposure. Our candles are made using pure beeswax, organic hemp wicks, and carefully selected essential oils and extracts.
We do not claim health outcomes or universal suitability. Instead, we aim to provide clear information so customers can make informed decisions for their own homes.
A Philosophy of Rest and Restraint
We believe rest is essential, not earned. The home should be a place where the nervous system can settle, attention can soften, and presence is possible.
